Sporting Park was formerly known as Livestrong Sporting Park (2011–2013) and Sporting Park (2013–2015) and Children’s Mercy Park (2016-2026) . The arena is Sporting Kansas City’s third home venue. The team played in Arrowhead Stadium from 1996 to 2007 and CommunityAmerica Ballpark from 2008 to 2010.

Sporting Park has a 40-foot elevation change across its entire footprint. The signature 145,000-square-foot roof canopy mimics the long floating arc of a soccer ball as it soars across the field. From high to low point, the roof arcs from 65 feet to 95 feet.

The nearest airport to Sporting Park is Kansas City International Airport (MCI) which is approximately 23 miles away. At present, there are no direct flights from London to Kansas City International Airport (MCI). However, there are several flights from London to Kansas City with a stopover.

If you are already in the US and looking to travel to/from Kansas, then you have the choice of most US domestic airlines including Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, American Eagle, Frontier Airlines, Jet Blue, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, United Airways and WestJet.

You can get to Sporting Park by bus. The bus line that stops near Sporting Park is line 101. The nearest bus stop to Children’s Mercy Park on this route is On Village West Pkwy at Prairie Crossing Seb which is 282 yards away and is around a 4-minute walk. You could also make use of apps such as Moovit to get real time information and directions to the arena using public transportation.

Rideshare services such as Uber or Lyft are also available in the vicinity and can drop you close to the arena.

Beyond the Airbnb and Sonder options there are many hotels nearby to suit all budgets, which can be booked directly or via one of the hotel reservation booking sites.

Sporting Park is in a thriving entertainment district known as Village West. Village West is the number one tourism destination in the state of Kansas and features shopping, dining, and entertainment options that you won’t find anywhere else in the area. There are several hotels located near the stadium, including Holiday Inn Express (North), Hampton Inn Kansas (East), Chateau Avalon (South), and Country Inn & Suites by Carlson (South).
