TD Garden is a multi-purpose arena in Boston, Massachusetts. It is located directly above the MBTA’s North Station in Boston’s historic North End neighbourhood. It opened in 1995 as a replacement for the original Boston Garden and has been known previously as FleetCenter, and TD Banknorth Garden. The TD Garden is the home of both the Celtics and the NHL’s Boston Bruins and has a capacity of 19,580 for basketball games.

TD Garden is a year-round arena that is fully equipped with three private restaurants – Harbor View, Legends, and the Level 5 Bistro – 90 executive suites, 1,100 club seats, a multi-million dollar high-definition video scoreboard and complete 360-degree LED technology.

The arena is located in the heart of Boston and convenient to public transportation and historical sites. It hosts over 3.5 million people a year at its world-renowned concerts, sporting events, family shows, wrestling, and ice shows. TD Garden is the largest sports and entertainment arena in New England with a seating capacity of 19,580 for basketball games and 17,565 for ice hockey games.

How to Get to Boston

The nearest airport to TD Garden is Boston (BOS) Airport which is 2.3 miles away. Other nearby airports include Worcester (ORH), Manchester (MHT) and Providence (PVD) which are all approximately 45 miles away. Several airlines fly direct to Boston from London including British Airways, Delta Air Lines, Virgin Atlantic, Norwegian Long-Haul, JetBlue, American Airlines, Finnair and Iberia.

If you’re already in the US and looking to travel to/from Atlanta, then you have the choice of most US domestic airlines including Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, American Eagle, Frontier Airlines, Jet Blue, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, United Airways and WestJet.

Public Transport

Public transport is the easiest option when travelling to TD Gardens. The subway station is located right next to the arena and there are also several bus stops nearby.

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is the public agency who operate most public transportation services in Greater Boston. You can use their public transport to get to TD Garden using Bus, Subway or Train.

Apps such as Moovit are a handy resource providing real-time public transport information. They are free to download and allow you to plan your trip by finding the best routes to and from the venue using all public transportation options.

Staying in Boston

There are many popular areas to stay when visiting the TD Garden. West End is a welcoming neighbourhood well known for its great selection of restaurants and bars. You are spoilt for choice with around 400 hotels within just a mile of TD Garden.

Some of the top hotels nearby include CitizenM Boston North Station, The Onyx, Liberty Hotel, and Hotel Indigo Boston Garden.

Beyond the Airbnb and Sonder options there are many hotels nearby to suit all budgets, which can be booked directly or via one of the hotel reservation booking sites.
