Shell Energy Stadium has gone through several name changes, previously being known as BBVA Compass Stadium (2012–2019), BBVA Stadium (2019–2021), and PNC Stadium (2021–2022). Shell Energy announced in January 2023, that it acquired the stadium’s naming rights, agreeing to an 8-year, $40 million deal. Shell Energy Stadium will now feature new marquee signage at the north end, and Shell Energy signage and branding prominently displayed throughout the venue. In addition to the naming rights agreement, the Club and Shell Energy aim to reduce the Club’s scope one and scope two greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent by 2026 from a 2018 base year.
