BC Place is located on Pacific Boulevard in Vancouver and was opened on June 19th, 1983. It is the current home of Vancouver Whitecaps FC but their history at BC Place began during the days of the North American Soccer League. After renovations were made in 2011 the stadiums capacity increased to over 21,000 seats.

BC Place is owned and operated by the BC Pavilion Corporation. Renovation work at BC Place was done in two phases. The first phase involved upgrades to seating, washrooms, concessions, and luxury suites, as well as the reinforcement of the existing ring beam at the top of the building and was completed in October 2009, in time for the 2010 Winter Olympics and 2010 Winter Paralympics. The second phase involved the construction of a retractable roof and was completed in September 2011.

As well as being the main stadium for the 2010 Olympics, BC Place has hosted a wide range of dynamic shows from concerts to carnivals.
