Providence Park is in the Goose Hollow neighbourhood of Portland. It has existed in rudimentary form since 1893 and as a complete stadium since 1926. The stadium is home ground for the Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer (MLS) and Portland Thorns FC of National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
The stadium can host more than 25,000 fans and hosts about 150 events per year, including professional sports games, concerts, youth camps and business events. In 2019, the Timbers added three new levels to the east side of the stadium and expanded capacity from 21,144 to 25,218 using an estimated $75 million in private funding.
