The Honda Center is an indoor arena built by the city of Anaheim and completed in 1993. During construction Arrowhead Water paid $15 million for the naming rights. The arena was named the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim until the venue was renamed the Honda Center in 2006.
The first event held at the Honda Center was a Barry Manilow concert on June 19th, 1993, but the first game played at the Honda Center was the Anaheim Ducks vs. the Detroit Red Wings on October 8th where the Anaheim Ducks won 7-2.
The Major League Baseball team Los Angeles Angels play at the Angel Stadium less than a mile away.
