The Honda Center in Anaheim is home to the Anaheim Ducks. The team was founded in 1993 by the Walt Disney Company as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, a name based on the 1992 film The Mighty Ducks. With a seating capacity of 17,174, the Honda Center is a premier sports and entertainment venue hosting a variety of family shows, top-billed concerts, popular sports, and entertainment events throughout the year.

The Honda Center is an indoor arena built by the city of Anaheim and completed in 1993. During construction Arrowhead Water paid $15 million for the naming rights. The arena was named the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim until the venue was renamed the Honda Center in 2006.

The first event held at the Honda Center was a Barry Manilow concert on June 19th, 1993, but the first game played at the Honda Center was the Anaheim Ducks vs. the Detroit Red Wings on October 8th where the Anaheim Ducks won 7-2.

The Major League Baseball team Los Angeles Angels play at the Angel Stadium less than a mile away.

How to Get Anaheim

The nearest airport is Santa Ana (SNA) at 8.9 miles away. Other nearby airports include Long Beach (LGB) 15.5 miles away, Ontario (ONT) 23.8 miles away, and Los Angeles (LAX) which is 32.1 miles away.

British Airways and Alaska Airlines fly direct from London to Santa Ana, but with 3 other airports in close proximity I would check several airlines/routes for the best deals.

If you’re already in the US and looking to travel to/from the stadium, then you have the choice of most US domestic airlines including Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, American Eagle, Frontier Airlines, Jet Blue, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, United Airways and WestJet.

Public Transport

There are several public transportation options available to get to the Honda Center.

You can check out Metrolink trains, Amtrak Pacific Surfliner, and OC (Orange County) Bus for transportation to ARTIC Station in Anaheim. The ARTIC (Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center) station is the closest station to Honda Stadium.

Metrolink and Amtrak tickets can be purchased at ticket machines at the stations, or via their app/website. The easiest way to purchase OC bus tickets is via their app.

Staying in Anaheim

Beyond the Airbnb and Sonder options there are many hotels nearby to suit all budgets, which can be booked directly or via one of the hotel reservation booking sites.

There are plenty of budget-friendly hotels near the Honda Center like the Santa Ana Travel Inn, Towneplace Suites by Marriott Anaheim, Motel 6-Anaheim, or The Lemon Tree Hotel. If you feel like treating yourself to a luxury hotel stay there’s always The Viv Hotel or JW Marriott Anaheim Resort for 5 star hotel options.

I’d recommend checking where the nearest bus or rail connection is to your hotel for easier travel to the stadium.

Anaheim Ducks Tickets

The Anaheim Ducks sell their tickets via Ticketmaster.

The official ticket partner for the NHL is Ticketmaster.

Here are links to the main ticket resale sites. Click on the link, which will open up a new window, and you can compare the prices on the different ticket resell sites, bearing in mind that the prices shown are before the selling platform fees are added, so take time to have a read of my tips to Buying Tickets in North America.

I recommend downloading the team’s Mobile App to your phone as it contains much Gameday information for the stadium.
