Scotiabank Saddledome is a multi-use sports arena that opened on October 15th, 1983. The first event in the Saddledome was a sell-out Battle of Alberta match between the Flames and the Edmonton Oilers.

The arena is the current home to the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL), Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League (WHL) and Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League (NLL). It also hosts concerts, conferences and other events.

The arena has many facilities such as bars including Dutton’s Lounge, Telus Club Lounge, Saddleroom Grill, Alumni Lounge and the King Club.

The nearest airport to Scotiabank Saddledome is Calgary (YYC) which is just 11 km away from the stadium.

United, Virgin Atlantic and WestJet are some of the airlines that fly directly from London Heathrow (LHR) to Calgary (YYC) in Canada. WestJet also operate direct flights from London Gatwick (LGW) to Calgary.

If you’re already in Canada or the US and looking to travel to/from Calgary, then you have the choice of most domestic airlines including Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, American Eagle, Frontier Airlines, Jet Blue, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, United Airways and WestJet.

Calgary Transit provides a safe, accessible, reliable and courteous public transportation system around the Scotiabank Saddledome arena. You can easily get there by Bus or Light Rail.

The nearest light rail station to Scotiabank Saddledome is the Nb Victoria Park / Stampede station which is approximately 13 minutes’ walk away. The nearest bus stop is a brief 4 min walk away from the arena.

You could also make use of apps such as Moovit to get directions to the arena using public transportation.

Beyond the Airbnb and Sonder options there are many hotels nearby to suit all budgets, which can be booked directly or via one of the hotel reservation booking sites.

Scotiabank Saddledome is located in Downtown Calgary which is an artsy neighbourhood that travellers enjoy for top attractions such as the great entertainment and a beautiful riverfront. Some popular hotels near Scotiabank Saddledome include Best Western Premier Calgary Plaza Hotel & Conference Centre, Hyatt Regency Calgary, Best Western Plus Calgary Centre Inn and Le Germain Hotel Calgary.

I’d recommend checking where the nearest bus or rail connection is to your hotel for easier travel to the arena.
