Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is a multi-purpose arena located in Cleveland, Ohio. It is the home of the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL). It also serves as a secondary arena for Cleveland State Vikings men’s and women’s basketball. The arena seats 19,432 people in its basketball configuration and up to 18,926 for ice hockey.

Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse opened in October 1994 as part of the Gateway Sports and Entertainment Complex with adjacent Progressive Field, which is home to Major League Baseball team, the Cleveland Guardians.

The naming rights for Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse have changed several times since its opening in 1994. From its opening until August 2005, it was known as Gund Arena, named for former Cavaliers owner Gordon Gund. After purchasing a majority of the Cavaliers in March 2005, Dan Gilbert bought the naming rights and renamed the building Quicken Loans Arena. In April 2019, it was renamed Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse for Quicken Loans’ online mortgage lending service.

How to Get to Cleveland

The nearest airport to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) which is approximately 10 miles away. There are currently no direct flights to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) from London, but there are several options available including a layover.

If you are already in the US and looking to travel to/from Ohio, then you have the choice of most US domestic airlines including Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, American Eagle, Frontier Airlines, Jet Blue, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, United Airways and WestJet.

Public Transport

The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) offers services to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse from all parts of Cuyahoga County by bus or rapid transit. The nearest bus stop to the arena is located at Ontario St & Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, and the nearest rapid transit station is Tower City Station. You could also make use of apps such as Moovit to get directions to the arena using public transportation.

Rideshare services such as Uber or Lyft are also available in the vicinity. Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse has designated pick-up and drop-off locations at Huron E. & 8th Street, and West Huron at Tower City.

Staying in Cleveland

Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is in downtown Cleveland. Some popular neighbourhoods to stay in when visiting the arena include Downtown Cleveland, Gateway District and The Flats. Downtown Cleveland is home to many of the city’s top attractions. There are many hotels, restaurants, and shops in this area. Gateway District is just east of downtown and is also home to many popular attractions. The Flats is located along the Cuyahoga River and is known for its nightlife and entertainment options.
