Coors Field is in Denver’s Lower Downtown neighbourhood. When built in 1995, it was the first ballpark with a heated infield and grass. 45 miles of cable run underneath to not only melt early spring and fall snow but keep the grass green during those particularly dry summer months.
Coors Field has earned a reputation as a hitter’s park because of Denver’s high elevation and semi-arid climate on the distances of batted balls. To combat this, the outfield fences were positioned further away from home plate and baseballs used in the park have been pre-stored in humidors.
