Dick’s Sporting Goods Park is a soccer-specific stadium located in Commerce City, Colorado. Construction of the park began on September 28th, 2005, and it opened on April 7th, 2007. It is home to the Colorado Rapids men’s professional soccer team. The stadium seats up to 18,061 people for soccer matches but can accommodate up to 27,000 for concerts.

Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, also known as DSG Park, became the third home venue for the Colorado Rapids (MLS) upon its opening in 2007. For their first eleven seasons, the Rapids played at Mile High Stadium (1996–2000) and Invesco Field at Mile High (2001–2006).

Dick’s Sporting Goods Park has the highest elevation of any stadium extensively used by MLS teams. Sitting at just over 5,200 feet (1,600 m) above sea level, the stadium has played host to several famous snow games. The DSG Park also contains 22 full-size, fully lit sports fields which are used for soccer, lacrosse, rugby, and football.

How to Get to Denver

The nearest airport is Denver International Airport (DEN). The distance between Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and Denver Airport (DEN) is around 15 miles. British Airways is currently the only airline offering direct flights from London Heathrow (LHR) to Denver International Airport (DEN).

If you are already in the US and looking to travel to/from Denver, then you have the choice of most US domestic airlines including Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, American Eagle, Frontier Airlines, Jet Blue, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, United Airways and WestJet.

Public Transport

You can get to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park by bus. The closest stop to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park which is approximately 1.1 miles away and about a 23-minute walk. Bus routes servicing this stop are routes 48 and 88. You could also make use of apps such as Moovit to get directions to the arena using public transportation.

If using a ride sharing app, you will find the drop-off and pick-up area for Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on the west side of the stadium at Victory Way/60th Avenue.

Staying in Denver

There are many great neighbourhoods to stay in when visiting the DSG Park. Stapleton has several parks and green spaces, including Central Park, the third largest park in Denver and offers a variety of recreational, restaurants, and entertainment opportunities. The Central Business District is home to fine dining, bars, shopping, arts, and culture. LoDo (Lower Downtown) is a mixed-use historic district known for its nightlife and serves as an example of success in urban reinvestment and revitalisation.
