Globe Life Field, the third home park for the Texas Rangers, opened in 2020. After moving to Texas for the 1972 season, the franchise played at the Arlington Stadium until 1993. The Ballpark in Arlington, which was later known as Ameriquest Field, Rangers Ballpark, and ultimately Globe Life Park, was the team’s home from 1994-2019.
Interestingly, the field dimensions were selected to honour key moments and people in Texas Rangers’ history. For example, the left field line is 329ft (Adrian Beltre’s #29), the left field power alley is 372ft (Rangers’ first year in Arlington–1972), and the centre field (straightaway) is 407ft (Ivan Rodriguez’ #7).
