The Globe Life Field is the home ballpark of Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers since 2020. The official ground-breaking took place on September 28th, 2017 with construction being completed in under 3 years. The stadium officially opened for a high-school graduation on May 29th, 2020. The stadium has a retractable roof and can seat up to 40,300 people.

Globe Life Field, the third home park for the Texas Rangers, opened in 2020. After moving to Texas for the 1972 season, the franchise played at the Arlington Stadium until 1993. The Ballpark in Arlington, which was later known as Ameriquest Field, Rangers Ballpark, and ultimately Globe Life Park, was the team’s home from 1994-2019.

Interestingly, the field dimensions were selected to honour key moments and people in Texas Rangers’ history. For example, the left field line is 329ft (Adrian Beltre’s #29), the left field power alley is 372ft (Rangers’ first year in Arlington–1972), and the centre field (straightaway) is 407ft (Ivan Rodriguez’ #7).

How to Get to Dallas

The nearest airport to Globe Life Field is Dallas/Ft.Worth (DFW) which is approximately 13 miles away from the Globe Life Field. Alternatively, Dallas Love Field (DAL) is only 21 miles away.

Currently there’s not many airlines flying direct from the UK into Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW). Only American Airlines and British Airways fly direct from London Heathrow (LHR).

If you’re already in the US and looking to travel to/from Globe Life Field, then you have the choice of most US domestic airlines including Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, American Eagle, Frontier Airlines, Jet Blue, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, United Airways and WestJet.

Public Transport

Globe Life Field is central Arlington with plenty of other attractions nearby making it easy to find, but does prove to be a challenge with sheer volume of traffic.

Unlike other large cities, there isn’t an easy public transit option that takes you in and out of the stadium. Driving is an option, but parking can be expensive, and the traffic means you’d need to allow extra time to travel and park.

Uber or another rideshare services are readily available, and the pick-up and drop-off point is conveniently located in the southbound lanes of Nolan Ryan Expressway between Randol Mill and Road To Six Flags.

Texas Rangers Tickets

The Texas Rangers sell their tickets via mlb.tickets and the MLB Ballpark App.

SeatGeek has replaced StubHub as the official ticket resale partner for MLB.

Baseball fans can still use other resale ticket marketplaces to buy and sell tickets to MLB games. MLB will verify those tickets so buyers know they’re getting a legitimate ticket.

Here are links to the main ticket resale sites. Click on the link, which will open up a new window, and you can compare the prices on the different ticket resell sites, bearing in mind that the prices shown are before the selling platforms fees are added, so take time to have a read of my tips to Buying Tickets in North America.

I recommend downloading the Ballpark App to your phone as it contains a lot of Gameday information for the Ballpark you are visiting and a place to check in and record all the baseball games you have been to.
